Quality product

The shaver feels like a high quality product in your hand. The precision comb does not suit my beard too well and trimming with it takes time and requires multiple passes. Of course this depends on how curly and thick your beard is.

Yes, I recommend this product !

Great Machine

Great machine, smooth and easy to use. I have always been a Philips person but from now on I'm a Braun person. I like that it´s very quiet, easy to clean, comfortable to hold and has a good battery life. I have used it to trim the beard and hair. I´m really satisfied with it and i highly recommend it.

Excellent service and warranty replacement

I was delighted with the level of service I received from Braun, including the hassle free nature of my warranty replacement. I would choose to buy from Braun over their competitors again for the piece of mind that if the product had any issues, Braun would take care of it. Good product, great service. Thanks

Yes, I recommend this product !

easy to use

I love the way and ease by which my young brother can use it without hurting himself as he is still a teenager thus mostly used to cut himself while shaving. Now i am thinking of buying one for my hubby as well as i am impressed with the quick n neat look that it gives you

Yes, I recommend this product !

A good trim

I received my brain bt5050 beard trimmer free from Braun to test. I don't normally use electric trimmers s ones I have tried in the past haven't been great. The Braun bt5050 comes with two adjustable comb attachments, one for hair and one for beards and they both allow the trimmer to cut to set lengths very accurately. The trimmer cuts really well without struggling which is rare as I have a double crown and really thick hair. The only down side isn't due to the trimmer but just Joe psych my beard growth is now it isn't disguised by being longer lol. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Beard trimmer

I got the beard trimmer out of the box that I received free from Braun with much anticipation, disappointed that it doesn't have a plug as I don't have the 2 pin socket in my bathroom, also 8 hours charge for 50 minutes using time is abit much, faults aside it is comfortable to use and gets to the areas it needs to. I Like the easy clean feature that clips off and the locking feature. Overall a good product and would recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A great trimmer for even the most meticulously maintained beard

I recently received a Braun BT5050 beard trimmer for free in exchange for an honest review, the timing of which was perfect as my old trimmer was beginning to get a little long in the tooth, I generally trim rather than shave as I prefer to keep some stubble to save me the from the inevitable ribbing that would commence following being asked for ID down the pub.On first impression the packaging although basic looks pretty slick, the artwork uses a nice electric blue accent colour, a design cue that continues throughout the product serving to highlight any buttons or switches, the blue stands out nicely from the matte black background drawing attention to the trimmers main selling point the precision dial.Included in the box with the BT5050 is the precision comb with precision dial, a second comb for longer beards, the power/charging cable, a cleaning brush, travel pouch and lastly a small bottle of oil.Looking at the unit itself the front of the sleek black casing is only interrupted by some minimal silver branding along with a small LED charging indicator which also doubles as a low battery warning, on the back is a solitary power button accented in the signature electric blue. The BT5050 appears to be rather well built and has enough weight to it to suggest quality without being too heavy, there is also a soft rubberised texture to the back half helping to prevent it becoming slippery when used with wet or soapy hands. The trimmer itself feels very ergonomic with a nice curve which is not only comfortable in hand, but also ensures the blades are held at the correct angle. Slotting the precision comb onto the trimmer it locks into place with a reassuring "click"; at this point you can use the precision dial to select one of twenty length settings ranging from 1-10mm in half-millimeter increment;, your desired setting can then be locked in place to prevent any accidental changes either during or between uses. In contrast to this the long beard comb lacks the precision dial opting instead for far less gadgetry and a manual slider which is initiated by a simple button press, and disappointingly provides much less versatility with only five length settings between 10 and 20mm.In use the BT5050 is really rather quiet especially in comparison to my old trimmer and the blades made pretty light work of my rather coarse facial hair with no pulling or tugging which was surprising as my usual stubble was fast approaching full beard status at this point. After use you can either give the blades a quick clean with the included brush or alternatively, as the unit is fully washable, you can rinse under warm running water and leave to dry. On an 8 hour charge the dual nickel-metal hydride batteries will last around 50 minutes which even if used daily should last a full seven days between charges. The charging chord itself is of a coiled bungee style, akin to that of an old telephone which terminates at a 2-pin plug Braun has dubbed the SmartPlug; basically the SmartPlug allows you to take your trimmer abroad with you and not have to worry about the differing voltages of foreign power outlets which is fantastic news for those that travel regularly. The only problem with this is that if you aren't lucky enough to have a shaving socket in your bathroom at home, you will need a 3-pin adaptor to enable you to charge the trimmer using a standard UK socket, (no doubt you will probably have one or more of these languishing at the back of some rarely used draw), but it's something that I think is worth pointing out.Overall I've been very pleased with the Braun BT5050 and will be continuing to use it in place of my current beard trimmer. Braun BT5050 Review

Ok - i have never been one for beard trimmers. I had a Phillips one a while ago which was ok while it lasted...which was about only a few months until the battery started to die on me. Since then i have been back to using the trusty disposable Gilletes. However i recently had the chance to trail the Braun BT505 so it was a first step back towards using a trimmer. I had found that with razors i was unable to style and frankly it was a bit of a chore. Sometimes i would wake up and feel like "i cant be bothered". Here in comes the advantage of the trimmer - which is less than 5 mins and boom - beard is all tidy. The Braun BT5050 - comes in a smartly packaged box. The unit itself is a good size - easily fits in hand, and is sturdy. it comes with a beard trimming attachment - very nice and easy to use - as u turn a dial as to how much mil u want to keep on. A hair trimming attachment - which i probably wont use, but can see the benefit of having it handy, a brush to brush the head, a small oil bottle to keep the blades oiled and a small pouch to keep it all in. Oh and of course the charging wire The handbook with it is handy too - although its in a variety of languages, English is easy to find and its short. The booklet says a fully charged unit will last for around 50 mins which is great. if i trim every day it will still last a week. The performance of the trimmer is good - i used it on its lowest setting 1 mil and then without the trimmer - and found it trimmed effortlessly. Within 5 minutes i was done - as i don't do a trendy style - just straightforward trim all the beard. The unit was easy to clean too. Used the brush to brush off hairs and ran the unit under tap then popped it away int he pouch.Only time will tell if the battery life lives up to expectation - but so far the product is great. Ill put the razors away and keep using the trimmer. Highly recommended!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Smoooooother than Barry White!

Oh baby~ This was a surprise let me tell you. Full upfront disclosure I received this product free to review from Braun through BzzAgent and I am a huge Phillips male grooming products fan and this may be the first Braun product I've ever had win me over.Where to begin!? The most important thing I have to tell you about is just how insanely smooth and glorious it feels in use. Oh my gracious I've never had a frictionless dry cut like it. If it wasn't for the bzzzzing noise you'd not even know it was on. Each blade glides through the hair dry or wet and softly cuts through without any nicks, tugs or pulls in any of the occasions I've used it.The guard is perfect at its job without inhibiting the quality of the shave or the shortness of the cut and allows an all over shave within a minute. It was used on average about two minutes a day for a week and I still haven't recharged it.The utterly gorgeous masculine design in deep matte black and Neon blue makes this stunning bathroom item stand out with 25 options for length. I am a man blessed with a baby face and I like to run controlled stubble to give myself that oompfh and I'd always found it super tricky to maintain that look without going too short or too messy. The Braun BT5050 allows me to keep that look permanently with an insanely low cut of .5mm right down the bone without actually shaving the hair off. Now we can all wear a perma-Clooney look. All the way up to an inch and with an adaptor reaching out to 20mm it can keep even the most dedicated hipster among us looking neat and tidy for work.Build quality? Oh my this is where the German part comes in. Phillips for me has always been my go to choice and Braun was one I had avoided in the past but they apparently have learnt from their mistakes. The quality is absolutely solid. It feels wonderful in the hand and easy to grip with wet hands when stepping out of the shower (or in if you're one of those wet shavers). The satisfying heavy clunkclunkclunk of the wheel clearly displaying the cut in increments on the dial and the guard easily removed by a gentle squeeze of those neon sides. The quality remains in the accessories here too with a strong and well built feel that makes me happy to say this looks like a quality long lasting product. While we're on the aesthetics. It's the most non-invasive shaver I've held in a long time. It doesn't feel like you're handling a jack hammer by the end of the shave and you get that weird pins and needle sin your hand. Nice and controlled and ergonomic towards the top to ensure all the energy is coming into the blades. In a house with two guys and lots of grooming equipment we're both set that this is an excellent product for your buck. It's smart looking, gentle and built to high standards. Give it a try! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
